The EU can meet its ambitious goal for cutting greenhouse gases – but consumers would have to foot the bill, says a new study. Simon Taylor reports
Household fuel bills will have to rise to twice today's levels by 2020 if the EU is to come even close to cutting greenhouse gases by 20% and obtaining 20% of energy from renewable sources like wind and solar power. That is the conclusion of a study by management consultancy Accenture scheduled for publication at the end of July.
