EU cancer-screening rates far off target

Report finds that EU member states carry out fewer than half the targeted screenings that the European Commission has recommended.

Cancer screening

The following countries to not have targeted screening programmes for:

Breast, cervical or colorectal cancer: Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia.

Cervical or colorectal cancer: Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany.

Cervical cancer: Cyprus, France, Luxembourg, Malta.

Colorectal cancer: Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland.
