18 September: Germany's upper house, the Bundesrat, will decide whether to approve a new law on the relation between the German constitution and the Lisbon treaty
2 October: Referendum in Ireland on the Lisbon treaty
29-30 October: European Council expected to decide on president of the European Council and High Representative
