Brazil

The European Commission today approved a visa waiver agreement that it negotiated last year with Brazil. The agreement would allow all EU nationals to travel to Brazil for stays of up to 90 days for tourism or businesses purposes without a visa. It would grant Brazilians broadly equivalent access to the EU. It would not replace more generous bilateral arrangements that member states have negotiated for their citizens with Brazil. The agreement needs to be approved by the EU Council of Ministers, and ratified by Brazil, before it can enter into force.
