Mephedrone banned
National justice ministers agreed today (3 December) to ban mephedrone, a synthetic drug comparable to ecstacy that is still legal in 12 member states. The ministers banned the manufacture and sale of the drug across the EU. Viviane Reding, the European commissioner for justice, said the EU had shown “that we can act quickly to stop this kind of drug from taking more lives”.
