A safety net for patients?

The EU must ensure that health inequalities do not widen during the financial crisis.

Austerity measures are now omnipresent in Europe, and healthcare spending is being constrained or cut back. It may be too early to say how much of a risk this poses to patients, but there is clearly a risk. And, more specifically, this cost containment already appears to be delaying patients’ access to new medicines.
