Ban Ki-moon decries EU delay on climate pledge

The UN secretary general says the EU should agree a 2030 emissions reduction target at the June European Council, before he holds a climate leaders summit in September.

Ban Ki-moon, the secretary general of the United Nations, warned European leaders today (3 April) that they risk derailing progress toward agreeing a globally binding climate deal in Paris at the end of 2015 if they do not agree European Union emissions reduction pledge at the June European Council.
