ECB at the centre of the euro storm

The European Central Bank is not immune to the growing tensions between member states over the eurozone crisis.

The decision by Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to invoke this Christmas the ghosts of the Great Depression of the 1930s was ill-judged and premature.
