EU agrees aviation emissions targets

Ministers set targets for two industries left out of Kyoto Protocol, aviation and shipping.

Europe will pursue global targets to cut greenhouse gas emissions from aviation by 10% by 2020 and 20% for shipping from 2005 levels, at international talks on climate change, environment ministers agreed today.
