EU guidelines praised for cutting ash-cloud disruption

'Only' 500 flights cancelled because of Grimsvötn eruption.

The European Commission yesterday  (25 May) said that new EU-wide guidelines to cope with ash clouds have so far led to fewer flight cancellations and less disruption for passengers following the eruption of the Grimsvötn volcano in Iceland.
