Google privacy policy ‘breaks EU data rules’

New privacy policy comes into effect today.

Google’s new privacy policy, which takes effect today (1 March), violates EU rules on data protection, according to France’s data-protection commission. The commission has asked the company to suspend the introduction of the policy until it has completed an analysis of its potential impact. It hopes to send Google a list of questions by mid-March. But Google has said that it will not suspend the introduction of the policy.
