... and two Commission spokespersons

27.09.2007 / 00:00 CET
Dalia Grybauskaite˙, the budget commissioner, will now be recruiting her third spokesperson, having worn out two in the space of three years. First the demanding commissioner replaced Swede Ewa Hedlund with Polish ex-journalist Robert Soltyk, but he is now going off to a post in the external relations department. So who's next for the treadmill?
Markos Kyprianou will also be replacing his spokesman because he is bringing into his private office Philip Tod, who has been his voice since 2004 and before that was a spokesman for the ALDE group in the European Parliament. So now somebody else will have to talk about bluetongue with a golden tongue – so to speak.
