The European Union says it will:
Work with member states that have the highest levels of youth employment to ‘re-direct available EU funds towards support for young people to get into work or training'.
Increase the number of placements in businesses under the European Commission's Leonardo da Vinci programme.
Use the European social fund to set up apprenticeship schemes.
Promote cross-border labour mobility.
