Better regulation a must for financial markets

The ongoing international financial crisis should compel policymakers to re-examine financial regulatory frameworks. Some are tempted to see the crisis as a recurrent accident, albeit more severe, along an economic cycle and follo-wing very cheap credit worldwide for several years. But a careful reading should go to the structural roots of the crisis.
