Cartel habit is hard to kick, say experts

The recent wave of cartel cases in the EU chemical industry is set to continue in the coming months, lawyers say. The European Commission this week (1 February) sent formal warnings to 18 companies for suspected price fixing on hydrogen peroxide and last week fined Akzo Nobel and two other companies a massive €217 million for operating a cartel in acid thickening-agents used in industry.
