Changing chairs

07.12.2006 / 00:00 CET
It looks as if Reimer Böge, the German Christian Democrat who drafted the MEPs' line on the 2007-13 budget, will take the chairmanship of the Parliament's budgets' committee from Polish MEP Janusz Lewandowski, who is angling to become a vice-president. If, as Entre Nous suggested last week, Austrian Herbert Bösch takes the chairmanship of the budgetary control committee from Hungarian Szabolcs Fazakas, that would leave Slovak Anna Záborská, who chairs the women's affairs committee, as the only MEP from a new member state to chair a committee. Tokenism taken too far?
