Who goes into the EEAS?

Under current plans, almost the entire Commission directorate-general for external relations and the EU's delegations abroad are to be transferred to the EEAS, with the exception of staff responsible for managing and implementing financial instruments. The directorates dealing with the countries of Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific in the directorate-general for development are also to become part of the EEAS. In the Council of Minister's secretariat-general, the policy unit, units dealing with crisis management and security missions abroad, and the entire directorate-general for external relations will be moved to the new service.
