Cultural change needed to smooth energy-supply kinks

The EU will next week (28 January) launch its second EU Sustainable Energy Week, with experts, politicians and inventors coming together in Brussels and other cities all over Europe. How we use energy and from where it is sourced has taken centre-stage of the political and technological debate. All the more curious, then, that there is so little reference to the profligate, largely avoidable, waste in the energy chain itself.
