Don't bet on getting into the US game

US law

  • The 1961 Wire Act prohibits the knowing use of any “wire communication facility” to transmit wagers or to send information on wagers or wins.
    The 1952 Travel Act regulates internal and foreign commerce related to any unlawful activity. It prohibits operators from offering services to states with bans, even outside state lines.
    The 1955 Illegal Gambling Business Act prohibits operators from offering gambling services in states with bans.
    The 1953 Interstate Transportation of Wagering Paraphernalia Act prohibits individuals from knowingly carrying or sending any paraphernalia related to bookmaking across state or national lines.
    The 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act aims to block US payments to foreign firms. It has yet to enter into force.
