EFSA clears chlorine-washed US poultry

European scientists say there is no scientific evidence of safety problems resulting from washing poultry in chlorine. Their opinion, released on 2 April, opens the way for a battle in the European Commission over whether to lift restrictions on American poultry imports treated in this way.
