EPP-ED TV

04.10.2007 / 00:00 CET
The European Parliament has been struggling to launch its Web TV service, which has been delayed by legal challenges over the tendering process and awarding of contracts. But the centre-right European People's Party-European Democrats (EPP-ED) group has beaten the Parliament to it. EPP-ED TV has been showing video news releases on the internet and YouTube since September. Mind you, the EPP-ED version cuts a few corners. The Parliament's Web TV will be available in 23 official languages, whereas EPP-ED TV is made available only in English. This has not gone down well with the German MEPs and must be slightly baffling for Joseph Daul, the Frenchman who leads the EPP-ED group.
