EU-US hyperbolic fever: is it all a load of old bologna?

TRENCHANT transatlantic analyst Robert Kagan wrote recently that “Americans are from Mars, Europeans are from Venus.” This may be an over-simplification, but it does illustrate a view that is growing on both sides of the pond – especially in the context of possible military action against Saddam Hussein – and it compels me to take another EU-US temperature-reading.
