Ghost in the machine for Malta

MALTA'S bid to join the EU may have been thrown into doubt by TV channel Euronews, if the island's angry hunters are to be believed. The Maltese Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FKNK) is up in arms after the Lyon-based station carried a report suggesting that hunters are damaging the island's environment and that Valetta needs tougher laws to protect its wildlife before it joins the Union.
