Have we learnt our lessons from the Holocaust?

This year's 60th anniversary of the liberation of the largest and most notorious Nazi extermination camp, Auschwitz, brought about a long list of events to commemorate the Holocaust. There were considerably more of them than on the 50th anniversary, including a special session of the UN General Assembly. Ten years ago there was not even a proposal to hold such a session, since it would not have mustered the necessary support.
