Italy given two weeks to justify Alitalia loan

Jacques Barrot, the European transport commissioner, has given the Italian government two weeks to justify a €300 million loan for loss-making airline Alitalia. Barrot said on 5 May that that the government had until 19 May to convince him that the loan was not state aid.
