ITS travels light

The newest political group in the European Parliament, Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty (ITS), has had a rough introduction to the custom of spending one summer ‘group week' away from the EU institutions.
ITS boasts among its 20 members such luminaries of tolerance as Jean-Marie Le Pen and his daughter Marine, Alessandra Musso-lini and the Vlaams Belang leader Frank Vanhecke. They spent the first week of July in Sicily – an island with an established tradition of playing host to extreme right-wing views. Sadly, the first item on the group's agenda once they returned to Brussels was what to do about the ‘loss' of half their baggage at Palermo airport. Another failure of law and order.
