Lamoureux remembered

18.01.2007 / 00:00 CET
François Lamoureux, the former director-general of transport and energy in the Commission who died of cancer in August, is unlikely to be forgotten quickly. Just to make sure, there are two ceremonies in Brussels next Tuesday (23 January).
The library in DG TREN is to be named after him and a plaque will be unveiled.
In the evening, there will be another ceremony in the piazza of the Berlaymont, the Commission headquarters.
Among the invited guests will be Ana Palacio, once Spain's foreign minister and before that an MEP, who will be representing her late sister Loyola de Palacio, the transport commissioner, who also died of cancer in December.
