Lamy up for book prize, but forget about any Oscars...

The philistines who award Oscars will probably never recognise Pascal Lamy's thespian prowess – regular readers of this column may recall an item highlighting his all-too-brief appearance in Spy Game, a thriller starring Brad Pitt and Robert Redford, in which the film-makers used TV news footage of Lamy and his team entering a building in Beijing, during the real-life negotiations over China's successful entry into the World Trade Organization.
