Clean-sky projects

  • Smart fixed-wing aircraft: investigating wings that sense airflow and adapt their shape accordingly to optimise efficiency.
    Green regional aircraft: research project that explores how to integrate technologies to build lighter, quieter aircraft.
    Green rotorcraft: project to build quieter and more efficient rotor blades, with less drag.
    Sustainable and green engine: explores how to reduce engine noise, cut nitrogen oxide emissions, reduce engine weight and improve fuel efficiency.
    Systems for green operations: focuses on developing more efficient air traffic management equipment and systems.
    Eco-design: examines the lifecycle of materials and components, decreasing the use of non-recyclables and noxious effluents.
