MEP Korhola parachuted into climate report

10.05.2007 / 00:00 CET
More website mystery. Finnish centre-right MEP Eija-Riitta Korhola has been appointed the European People's Party rapporteur on climate change. She will draft an action programme for the Europe-wide party (as distinct from the EPP-ED group in the European Parliament). Odd though that www.korhola.com features a picture of her wearing a helmet and jumpsuit, standing in front of a jet. Is she already parti pris on regulating aircraft emissions?
Apparently not. Her office explains that she used to enjoy parachuting: she was not piloting the plane. So that's all right then. We look forward to an EPP report extolling parachuting as the environmentally friendly way to travel – one way.
