Mistaken identities

It's nice to be appreciated. The Kurdish activist Leyla Zana addressed a meeting of the 200-strong Socialist group in the European Parliament last week. She was in Brussels to collect the Parliament's Sakharov Prize for human rights after a decade spent in jail in Turkey. At the start of the event, three women in Kurdish dress walked into the room and were greeted with a standing ovation, loud cheers and applause. The threesome then proceeded to walk to one of the interpreters' booths. Moments later the real Mrs Zana walked into the room...
