Rytis Martikonis is the new permanent representative of Lithuania to the EU. The 38-year old Martikonis was previously ambassador to the EU's Political and Security Committee, at the Lithuanian permanent representation in Brussels.
David Hanger, former publisher of The Economist and key player in the establishment of European Voice, takes on the role of vice president of the European Federation of Magazine Publishers (FAEP). He has been elected along with Jean Antoine Bouchez, a French publisher of financial publications, notably Mieux Vivre Votre Argent.
Sir Stephen Wall has joined Hill & Knowlton as chairman, public affairs, EMEA. He ended a career of more than 30 years with the UK diplomatic service as principal EU adviser to UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair. He was the UK's representative to the EU in 1995-2000.
Agnieska Ewa Kazmierczak, a 37-year-old Polish national, has been appointed as principal adviser in the Commission's Internal Audit Service.
Matthias Mors, once in the cabinet of then Commission president Jacques Santer, has been appointed principal adviser in the customs directorate of the Commission's taxation and customs union department.
