Christian Streiff, chief executive of PSA Peugeot Citroën, has been elected president of ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Assocation, to take over on 1 January from Fiat's Sergio Marchionne.
The general assembly of the Architects Council of Europe (ACE) has elected the Finnish architect Juhani Katainen as its president for a two-year period from 1 January 2008, succeeding Jean-François Susini.
The Brussels office of the UK region the West Midlands has appointed Andrew Ing as communications and partnership manager and Xenia Tsitiridou as European policy advisor, dealing with the environment and climate change dossiers.
The White House has appointed Keith Hennessy as co-president of the Transatlantic Economic Council (TEC), following his appointment as head of the National Economic Council. The TEC was set up in April 2007 to remove regulatory barriers to EU-US trade. The European co-president is European Commission Vice-President Günter Verheugen.
