One hurdle cleared, but Suez-GdF merger faces further obstacles

Suez and Gaz de France (GdF) this week cleared a major hurdle that lay in the path of their plans to merge, when the French parliament voted in favour of cutting the state's stake in GdF. But there is still shareholder opposition to the merger and EU regulators to be satisfied.
