Safely motivated

Excitement for security guards at the European Parliament.
You might think that working as a security guard is a dull job. But at least at the European Parliament you can be guaranteed some occasional excitement. There were, for example, raids inside the Parliament's Brussels building on the post office (2011) and on a bank (2009). Of course, those incidents have nothing to do with Parliament authorities' decision to take security back in-house and replace security contractors with directly employed staff. So 425 guards are being recruited for Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg. A spokesman for the Parliament said it was hoped that, as employees, the security staff would feel “more motivated”. Should you feel motivated to apply, you are too late: the deadline for filing applications was yesterday (30 October).
