Fast Facts

If the EU reduced its energy consumption by 1%, 50 coal plants and 25,000 wind turbines would not be needed.
To keep the global temperature increase below the scientific recommendation of 2°C, emissions must be limited to 26 gigatonnes by 2030 (compared to a business as usual trend of 41 gigatonnes). At least 54% of this reduction could be met by energy efficiency.
