In the ascendant I:
The New Year Honours List in the UK brought a change of initials for Edward Llewellyn, sometime member of the cabinet of then European commissioner Chris Patten. Previously made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his work for Patten when the latter was governor of Hong Kong, Llewellyn has now made it to the glorious rank of Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his work as chief of staff to Paddy Ashdown, who has just stepped down as high representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
