Klaus gets opt-out

EU leaders have accepted Czech president’s precondition for signing the Lisbon treaty.

The EU’s government leaders today agreed to give the Czech Republic an opt-out from the Charter of Fundamental Rights, the one political demand made by Czech President Václav Klaus as a precondition for adding his signature to the Treaty of Lisbon.
