Member states face UN vote on Palestine’s status

The European Union’s member states have yet to indicate how they will vote on 29 November when Palestine asks the United Nations General Assembly to recognise it as an ‘observer state’. Foreign ministers emerged from a meeting on Monday (19 November) without announcing a common position on an issue that also reared its head last year.
