Moving forward on ETS back-loading proposal

Plan aims to prop up the flagging price of carbon.

The European Commission will on Wednesday (14 November) unveil a long-awaited plan to prop up the flagging price of carbon in the EU emissions trading system (ETS), by delaying the auctioning of credits in the scheme’s next period. The stumbling block is that MEPs and member states are still dragging their feet on giving them the authority to do so.
