Old foes take important steps

Serbia and Kosovo talks continue with closer EU ties an incentive for both sides.

Fifteen years ago, Hashim Thaçi was a political leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which was waging a war of attrition against Slobodan Miloševic’s Serbian security forces in the province. The spokesman for Miloševic’s Socialist Party at the time was Ivica Dacic, an up-and-coming political operator.
