Trichet named head of think-tank

Former European Central Bank president to join Bruegel.

Jean-Claude Trichet, the former president of the European Central Bank (ECB), has been named chairman of Bruegel, a Brussels-based economics think-tank.

Trichet, who stepped down as ECB president at the end of October after eight years at the helm, said he was honoured to take up the new role.
