The low-down on the main contenders at next month's European Championships in Austria and Switzerland and a look at football's wider context: the problems it faces, the debates it stimulates and the role it can play for good in European society.

This European Voice special report is made available online for all visitors thanks to ECA - the European Club Association.

ECA – at the centre of influence and decision-making in European football

The European Club Association
is the independent body that represents clubs at European level. As such, ECA takes its place at the high table of European football along with UEFA, and official bodies representing players and the leagues. Through the ECA, clubs now have a powerful voice in discussions and decision-making that shape the future of professional football in Europe. ECA is committed to play a major and constructive role in this endeavour, for the benefit of all concerned with the game.

The formation of ECA marks an end to disharmony in the European football family, and clears the way for stability and collaboration in the future – on all issues of importance to the game – such as the EU Social Dialogue procedure, designed to bring more legal certainty and stability to labour relations in football.
